Birthday, Tropical Chic

A Grand Birthday!

Hello! I’m back with another card from the Tropical Escape Suite. I am loving this suite! Can you tell?

I also tossed in a couple of other stamp sets: Fabulous Flamingo and Truly Tailored (retired). I love how they all work together!

I love, love the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper pack! So many pretty colors and patterns!

This card came together quickly! Mostly, because I prepped ahead of time by stamping and cutting.

I highly recommend doing this!

This is the first time I have used the Truly Tailored stamp set. Seriously, I’ve had it since the Occasions Catalog, but just couldn’t seem to use it. Then while searching for an appropriate birthday sentiment for this card, I came across the one in Truly Tailored. I think it’s the first time I’ve used the Tailored Tag punch too. But I think they work perfectly with this card.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love your card! I have the flamingo and have struggled with getting the colors right would you mind sharing how you stamped or colored it?
Love it with your paper choice very tropical.

    1. Thank you Jenny! I originally tried using the Stamparatus as I wanted to stamp multiple flamingos, but found it more difficult and cumbersome to line the stamps up. So I just did it by hand and it was actually pretty easy.
      1) I stamped the body (no legs) outline in Memento Tuxedo Black.
      2) I stamped the solid body (no legs) next, in Blushing Bride (I’ve also used Powder Pink and Pink Pirouette and like those too).
      3) I stamped the partial body & legs in Flirty Flamingo.
      4) Last, I stamped the legs outline in Memento Tuxedo Black lining it up with the stamped legs.
I found those steps worked best for me and were pretty easy to do. Good luck! This is a really cute stamp set!
