Sitting Pretty

Missing You

Today’s post is a sad one for me.  Two weeks ago today, our fur baby passed away. Marley was 9 years and 10 months old and had been with us since a pup.

I wanted to send thank you notes to our vet and the cardiologist at the Sage Center and I thought the new Sitting Pretty bundle would be perfect for this. I created this card:

This is a really cute bundle. I love the bench die. Here I used the Wood Textures DSP for the bench. Stamping the cute bulldog and the plant in the vase were pretty easy to do with the photopolymer stamps – easy to line up!

I also used the new Gray Granite ink and card stock for my card base. And I used the returning Poppy Parade ink for the vase. I think this is my favorite of all the new colors in the new 2018-2019 catalog coming June 1st.

On the inside of the card (right behind the cover), I added a sentiment from the retired Summer Solstice stamp set. The little paw print with wings is not from Stampin’ Up! I left the other half of the inside blank so I could write my thank you note there.

I am really happy with how the cards turned out.

Here are a few more photos of our fur baby:

Our daughter with baby Marley. Those ears!

Such a little cutie pie. DNA analysis showed she was part Lab, part Boxer. Most of her black faded to tan as she grew.

She went on many hikes with us over the years. This photo was taken during her last hike in February of this year. She was already slowing down quite a bit at this point, but we didn’t know then that the problem was her heart. We miss her very much.

Thanks for stopping by!
