Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for April 2018. This month our theme is Bon Voyage Retiring In-Colors! You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Linda Suarez @ All Night Stamping or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.
Today’s post is all about the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of May: Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy. While Flirty Flamingo is retiring as an In Color, it will be returning in June as a new core color in the Brights Collection. But the other four colors will be gone after May.
I still love these colors so I will be keeping mine. They will join my beloved stash of retired products, the ones I cannot part with. So I thought it only appropriate that I use some other retired and retiring products to make a card using the 2016-2018 In Colors.
I stamped my favorite butterfly from the retired Papillon Potpourri stamp set in each In Color and then cut them out (using my Brother Scan N Cut made cutting them out a breeze). I wanted to keep the card base simple but I also wanted the butterflies to pop and show off the In Colors. A plain white background didn’t work, so I used one of the papers in the Petal Passion DSP. I think it works nicely to show off the colors.
I attached each butterfly with a little multipurpose glue in the center only so I could fold the wings up. Then I finished the card with a simple sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and a few pearls.
What do you think? Did I do justice to those beautiful In Colors? I hope so.
