Any Occasion, Sweet Soiree Memories & More

Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop – March 2018

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for February 2018. This month our theme is Last Call for Sale-a-Bration. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Linda Suarez @ All Night Stamping – or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

There are so many fun products in Sale-a-Bration, that I didn’t know how I was going choose. Then I realized that there was one product I hadn’t played with yet: Sweet Soiree Memories & More Card Pack!

As a scrapbooker, I love pocket scrapbooking, but I decided to think “outside the scrapbook” and use it to make a set of four cards, each with a matching tag. And for the tags, I am using another Sale-a-Bration product – the beautiful 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon Pack.

This turned into a fun project, and I think it would make a great class.

I went through the Sweet Soiree card pack carefully and separated the cards into four piles, thinking about which cards I would use to make an A2 size card and which I would use to make a matching tag. It turned out to be quite easy, I just love the colors and patterns and sentiments in this card pack.

Each card and its matching tag came together quickly. And it turned out that no stamping was needed. What took the most time was doing some of the cutting. I was able to use my Brother Scan N Cut for some of the cutting, but some required fussy cutting.

For my first card, I started with a horizontal Whisper White A2 card base and adhered a diagonal pattern strip from one of the large cards. I cut out one of the large floral images and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To complete the card, I added the I LOVE US sentiment which I cut out of one of the small cards.  To make the tag, I adhered two small cards together – one card with a sentiment for the front of the tag, and the other card with space to write a small note or add To/From for the back of the tag. I also used a die from the Lots of Labels Framelits to shape the tag. Finally, I added some of the pretty shimmer ribbon.

For my second card, I started with a vertical Whisper White A2 card base. I adhered one of the small cards with a flower pattern on the lower part of the card. I didn’t even have to cut it, it fit perfectly, with a small white border. I then cut out another of the large floral images and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To complete the card, I cut out the sentiment from one of the cards in the pack and adhered it over the . For the matching tag, I used “The Good Life” card, which I think matched well with the “so very blessed” sentiment on the card. Again, I adhered two small cards together – one card with the sentiment for the front of the tag, and the other card with space to write a small note or add To/From for the back of the tag. I kept the tag simple, just rounding the corners a bit and adding some more of the pretty shimmer ribbon in the 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon pack.

For my third card, I started with a horizontal Whisper White A2 card base.  I cut out the “Simply Amazing” sentiment from one of the cards, framed it with Marina Mist card stock and adhered it to the card base with Snail. Then I cut out another one of the floral images and adhered it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the matching tag, I adhered two small cards together – one card with the sentiment “Today was a day to Remember” for the front of the tag, and the other card with space to write a small note or add To/From for the back of the tag. I kept this tag simple too, rounding the corners and adding the pretty shimmer ribbon in the 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon pack.

And, finally, for my last card, I used a horizontal Whisper White A2 card base. I cut the large “HELLO” card down to a large strip, framed it with Rich Razzleberry card stock and adhered it to the card base with Snail. Then I cut out the last large floral image and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think this is my favorite of all the cards, so quick to make, but so pretty. And, of course, I had to use the matching “Hello” small card for the tag, along with another card adhered to the back for a short note or To/From sentiment. I cut out a couple of the small floral images and adhered them to the tag with dimensionals. A little corner rounding and more of the pretty shimmer ribbon completes it.

These are the four tag fronts:

I hope you like how I used the Sweet Soiree Memories & More card pack! I had so much fun using it to make a set of cards and matching tags.
